Stated first edition. Written for his children during year 1846-1849. For 85 years a sacredly guarded manuscript in the Dickens family. It was not published until his children had passed. Gift inscription on inside cover, beneath jacket flap. Otherwise, clean text block. Dust jacket has chipping to bottom rear and to top of spine, now wrapped in Brodart. Green cloth with faint soiling at edges, gilt title on spine. 128 pages.
