Stated first edition, thus,  with full RH number line beginning with '2.' Clean text and interior. Tight, square binding. Faint shelf wear to dust jacket, now wrapped in protective Brodart cover. Unclipped dust jacket with price intact. Includes seven early stories (Three Stratagems, The Robin, A Moment of Green Laurel, The Zenner Trophy, Erlinda and Mr. Coffin. Pages From an Abandoned Journal and The Ladies in the Library.) Revised, with a new preface by the author. The publisher hated it and the New York Times would not advertise it in 1948.
